Program Manager - Advising and Retention

About The Position

In this position, you will be part of a collaborative team supporting the College’s recruitment and retention efforts. Responsibilities include coordinating and participating in recruitment events on and off campus, traveling to engage with prospective students and their families. This position will coordinate summer orientation efforts. Other responsibilities include advising and coordinating transfer partnership agreements with other community colleges. Essential Functions: Assist in the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of Red Raider Orientation programming for incoming engineering students. Collaborate with campus and college partners to ensure accurate and student centered messaging during orientation sessions. Develop and present workshops focused on success in engineering, including academic strategies, resource utilization, time management, and transition support Partner with academic and student support areas to deliver targeted programming for foundational and at-risk student populations Advise foundational engineering students on academic planning, course progression, and university resources. Advise students exploring transfer pathways out of the college, ensuring informed and student-centered transition planning. Provide proactive advising support for students on academic probation, including academic recovery planning and resource referrals Assist in advising prospective students participating in community college partnerships and transfer agreements Support recruitment initiatives through presentations, resource fairs, campus visits, and off-site recruiting events. Represent the college at recruiting events and engage with prospective students and families. Partner with advising, recruitment, student success, and academic departments to support holistic student success. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Advising and Retention and the Sr. Director of Academics, Recruitment, and Retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects
  • Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis
