About The Position

This position is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring TANF contracts that exceed $160,000,000 annually. The incumbent will supervise designated staff to organize and improve the overall flow, communication, and administration of TANF funded programs.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR Six years of work experience in any field plus five years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR A baccalaureate degree plus five years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR An advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus four years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing and monitoring TANF contracts that exceed $160,000,000 annually.
  • Supervising designated staff to organize and improve the overall flow, communication, and administration of TANF funded programs.
  • Serving as the liaison for the Department with federal partners.
  • Ensuring the executive team is aware of changes in federal regulations and is provided information regarding best practices.
  • Overseeing responses to State and Legislative audits.
  • Using audit information to create corrective plans or develop processes to improve efficacy.
  • Pursuing the development and implementation of research-based and performance-measured programs that align with the four TANF goals and to support families with cash assistance and supportive services.
  • Confers with subordinates on complicated policy decisions, recommends to and directs them in the development and implementation of procedures related to TANF regulations.
  • Working with budget and the executive team and OMF to create an analysis of future expenditures.
  • Providing the legislature with periodic reports regarding TANF programs.
  • Performing special projects and other duties as assigned.
