Program Instructor ASL - Essex, CT
About The Position
Marrakech is seeking a dynamic, creative, energetic Program Instructor fluent in American Sign Language to provide direct care to an individual who is deaf or hard of hearing and has neurological and developmental challenges. The individual currently lives at home with his parents in the Essex, Connecticut area. The role supports the individual’s health, daily activities, learning, community participation, and quality of life. Two positions are open, with a flexible Monday–Friday schedule totaling 30 hours per week, depending on the individual’s needs. The starting rate is $20.45 per hour, with an additional $0.50 per hour after obtaining DDS Medication Administration Certification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Related experience and/or training working with people with disabilities who are also deaf or hard of hearing.
- Fluency in American Sign Language.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or the ability to become certified.
- PMT certification, or the ability to become certified.
- DDS Medication Administration Certification, or the ability to become certified.
