About The Position

The Program Innovation & AI Literacy Specialist serves full-time with IMPACT Your Acceptance (IYA), an IMPACTdmv youth program focused on leadership and workforce development, college access, career readiness, and AI literacy. Under the supervision of designated IMPACTdmv staff, the AmeriCorps Member facilitates hands-on workshops for middle and high school students and their families at partner school sites, supports and coaches college volunteers from the University of Maryland, College Park, and assists staff with approved AI tools for program tracking and records. Students learn to use AI as a thought partner rather than a thought replacement and apply generative AI tools to real problems in their communities. The role supports students in the DC metropolitan area as they prepare for college, careers, and an AI-powered future. The Member delivers workshops using approved curricula, supports student leaders and ambassadors, helps students identify educational and career opportunities, contributes to program development, and assists with family workshops and community events. The position also includes data entry and documentation, family communication, volunteer coordination, partnership development, and staff-supervised process improvement using approved AI tools. Student and family information must be handled confidentially, and the Member may use only authorized systems and procedures. Staff retain responsibility for program decisions, supervision, approval of official records and communications, and verification of outcomes. This is an AmeriCorps State and National service assignment with IMPACTdmv, Inc. Members serve approximately 40 hours per week and complete 1,200 service hours during the term from December 7, 2026, through August 13, 2027. The Member must follow AmeriCorps requirements and host-site policies, accurately document service hours, and perform activities that supplement rather than displace paid staff or existing volunteers.
