About The Position

The Program Innovation & AI Literacy Specialist is a full-time American Connection Corps (ACC) AmeriCorps service position with IMPACTdmv, Inc., serving its IMPACT Your Acceptance (IYA) youth program. Under the supervision of designated IMPACTdmv staff, the Member facilitates hands-on workshops for middle and high school students and their families, supports college volunteers, and assists staff with approved AI tools for program tracking and records. The work focuses on college access, career readiness, leadership and workforce development, and AI literacy. Students learn to use AI as a thought partner rather than a thought replacement and to apply generative AI tools to real community problems. The Member delivers on-site sessions at partner schools, typically on a weekly schedule during the school year, using approved curricula and program materials. Activities include coaching student leaders and ambassadors, supporting students as they explore internships and other educational opportunities, helping organize family workshops and program events, and contributing to program development in consultation with staff. The Member also assists with volunteer coordination, partnership outreach, data entry and organization, family communication, surveys, and reporting documentation. Staff retain responsibility for program decisions, official reporting, volunteer employment supervision, and review and approval of records and automated processes. The position is part of an AmeriCorps State and National service assignment. Members serve approximately 40 hours per week and complete 1,200 service hours during the term, which runs December 7, 2026 through August 13, 2027. The Member must follow AmeriCorps requirements and host-site policies, accurately document service hours, protect confidential information, and use only staff-approved AI tools and procedures. This position is not part-time or remote.
