The Program Facilitator helps program participants develop pro-social thinking and behaviors through the delivery of cognitive behavioral and evidence-based curricula. Facilitates group programming sessions in areas such as anger management, preventing violence, and critical thinking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field; or possess a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) designation or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of qualifying experience.
  • Previous experience as a facilitator / educator / group moderator with the criminal justice population.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to an operable vehicle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal skills.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable when discussing difficult topics.
  • Comfortable and effective in dealing with conflict.
  • Extensive organizational skills and pay attention to detail.
  • Flexible schedule as hours may vary each week, to include evening sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers gender-responsive and trauma-informed programming using curriculum-based group sessions.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practices to enhance participant engagement and motivation.
  • Conducts participant program orientations and intakes.
  • Maintains group rosters, attendance records, and documentation of progress.
  • As appropriate, assists participants in planning for release to the community.
  • Assists in the coordination of participant program schedules to ensure that all programming needs are met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
