Requirements

  • A degree in Health or Social Sciences.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in a community-based evaluation role, preferably within Public Health.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint), along with experience using survey tools (e.g., MS Forms, SurveyMonkey) and statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS).
  • Well-developed analytical, collaboration, and communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage competing tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in Health Evaluation or Public Health is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Program Evaluator with annual work plan, tracking projects/consults, determining reasonable timelines and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Development and implementation of evaluation plans.
  • Extraction and/or collection of data, including setting up online surveys, developing data collection tools, implementing quality checks, and supervising data collection.
  • Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative analysis as dictated by the interest-holder engagement or evaluation question and methodology.
  • Interpret and disseminate results through written reports, info-graphics and presentations.
  • Provide advice to external community partners and researchers regarding Health Department evaluation and interest-holder engagement projects.
  • Participate on provincial workgroups and committees to collaborate on public health initiatives that impact all health units.
  • Assist in ensuring that Halton Region Public Health is meeting the Ontario Public Health Standards, particularly the foundational standard Program Planning, Evaluation and Evidence-informed Decision Making.
  • Apply ethical aspects of interest-holder engagement and evaluation and provide input into relevant policy, procedures and resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
