About The Position

The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students with hands-on experience in various facets of a non-profit, voluntary health organization. The Data Science & Evaluation team is seeking a part-time intern interested in gaining experience in methods used to evaluate the impact of AHA’s programs and initiatives. The Association offers resources to support work-life harmonization, including access to Heart U, its award-winning corporate university, and local/National Center training and support. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Statistics, or a related field of study.
  • Ability to understand scientific communication (journals, briefings, reports, statistics, etc.).
  • Experience and/or training in developing data collection instruments and conducting basic quantitative or qualitative data analysis.
  • Effective oral, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Reliable WiFi Connection.
  • Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of Qualtrics, NVivo and/or Dedoose is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Literature reviews.
  • Development of qualitative and quantitative evaluation instruments.
  • Supporting implementation of surveys and focus groups/interviews.
  • Basic qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Contributing to written evaluation reports and presentations.
