About The Position

BAE Systems Electronic Solutions is seeking a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) to lead the engineering effort for an entire program and ensure the solution meets customer programmatic and technical requirements within allocated engineering cost and schedule. The PEM provides technical responsibility and leadership to cross-functional teams through system design, development, fielding, and support, and represents the technical team to project managers, functions, and executive leadership. The PEM develops the overall technical solution for a product or system and serves as the decision authority between the Chief Engineer and engineering team. The role influences design, development, test, and verification, while identifying and communicating technical risks and opportunities to the design team, Chief Engineer, and program management team. The successful candidate demonstrates full-scale program execution through risk assessment, leadership, decision-making, and analysis. This position is performed full time onsite at a BAE Systems facility due to the need for in-person collaboration and/or the nature of the work.

Requirements

Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain Special Access Program clearances and DoW Top Secret.
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of work experience, or equivalent experience.
Experience in engineering development of complex electronic systems and transition to manufacturing.
Project engineering management experience, including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification.

DoW Top Secret clearance.
Previous experience operating within a Special Access Program environment.
Experience developing and delivering within a digital engineering ecosystem.
Experience leading or collaborating with cross-site, cross-business-unit teams.
Experience leading diverse multidisciplinary teams in solving complex technical problems.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including soft skills, strategic thinking, business acumen, and building teams and customer relationships.
Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems and develop improved methods to increase program efficiency.

Responsibilities

Partner with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, and functional staff to develop and deliver products and systems that meet customer needs.
Collaborate across disciplines, functions, and business areas to support engineering across the enterprise.
Meet cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements throughout project life cycles.
Ensure competitive engineering bids are prepared and approved, are executable, meet established price-to-win targets, and support business growth.
Serve as the overall engineering point of contact for internal and external project customers.
Identify and support development of critical skills and resources.
Develop and maintain measures related to engineering performance.
Ensure processes are applied appropriately based on project size and complexity.
Establish goals, performance standards, budgets, and staffing plans.
Improve processes and skills to accelerate program execution and improve quality.
Lead and develop others.
Develop the overall technical solution and provide technical leadership through system design, development, fielding, and support.
