About The Position

The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration of a 200 bed men’s homeless shelter. Provides leadership for the day to day operation of the facility, as well as program accountability to ensure service goals are met or exceeded. Works closely with the AVP to ensure that relationships are developed with the local elected officials.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree required in human services or related field.
At least 4 years’ supervisory experience operating a DHS shelter is preferred.
Strong administrative skills and an understanding of residential operations required.
Experience in program management and knowledge of OTDA and DHS regulations required.
Great communication skills are a must both verbal and in writing.
Proficient in working in CARES

Master’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

Oversees all program operations to ensure success of the program in meeting client needs.
Ensures compliance with DHS outcomes regarding placements, long term stayers, placement retention, facility standards, as well as Westhab’s performance and quality assurance measurements.
Oversees process, census, vocational services, case management, facilities and housing placement services.
Ensures operations follow regulatory requirements (State OTDA / DHS / Westhab).
Provides leadership, direction and direct supervision to management staff, including Director of Social Services, Security Manager, and permanent housing placement staff ensuring support is in place to ensure the success of the shelter. Assigns driving schedule to the site driver.
Hires and reviews performance of all management staff.
Interfaces with the community, neighborhood associations and other local service providers.
Experience in facilitating and leading a Community Advisory Board (CAB)
Drives and monitors program results
Completes program status reports
Creates and monitor program corrective action plans when needed
On Call 24 hours/7 days a week
Other duties as assigned.
