About The Position

The Program Director is responsible for the development, management, and operations of an active recovery support center. This center develops and maintains peer-to-peer support services and activities provided for and by people in recovery from substance abuse. The recovery support center is encompassed in peer governance and uses the peer participatory process to create a safe, inclusive environment to promote ongoing growth and long-term recovery.

Requirements

  • Embrace and work in a culturally and linguistically diverse recovery community
  • Support all paths to recovery and have a minimum of 5 years of solid recovery
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of substance addiction and recovery
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Have working knowledge of community building and planning
  • Have proven skills in critical thinking, leadership and organization, as well as strong interpersonal boundaries
  • Have better than average experience using a computer and required software
  • Have experience and knowledge of the community, its organizations and service providers

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees center operations and administration
  • Supervises staff and directly or indirectly supervises volunteers.
  • Manage all peer supports and peer activities, and works with staff and peers to maintain project timelines
  • Oversees strategic planning, project development and implementation
  • Oversees data collection and submission of reports
  • Assists with budget development and fiscal management
  • Assists with grant writing as needed
  • Engagement of community and key stakeholder partnerships
  • Representation of center at local and statewide meetings and conferences
  • Keeping abreast of the national recovery movement and its impact on the recovery support center and its peers
  • Educating the community on the impact of stigma of addiction
  • Networking with the MA Recovery Support Centers and MOAR (MA Organization for Addiction Recovery)
  • Adhere to program and agency policies and procedures
  • Attend scheduled supervisory meetings
  • Assist in program planning as required
  • Complete time sheets and submits them accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain job related record keeping accurately and submit reports in a timely manner
