About The Position

The Program Director leads a Division (made up of Integrated Product Teams – IPTs) in pursuit of excellence in program performance (cost, schedule and technical), and overall contract execution. The Program Director cultivates a healthy work environment for Division personnel, sustains and grows Division workload, and is supported by Chief Engineers. Karman Space & Defense provides concept-to-production solutions for mission-critical systems on spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, hypersonics, and integrated defense systems. Requirements

B.S. in Engineering or Related Science or Field
10+ years in space and defense industry
Ability to develop, plan and execute projects
Demonstrated Division leader
Experience with customer relations with space and defense industry prime contractors and government agencies
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Leads engineering Division in pursuit of excellence in program performance (cost, schedule and technical)
Provides business, technical and/or strategic leadership on Division projects
Staffs projects with personnel that have the essential skills and experience
Regularly monitors cost, schedule and technical status of all Division projects
Ultimately responsible for financial, schedule and technical performance of area of responsibility and IPTs within
Cultivates a healthy work environment for Division personnel
Makes the best use of personnel skills and experience
Oversees personnel professional development (mentoring, training, career growth)
Balances personnel workloads
Accountable for hiring and termination of Division members
Ultimately responsible for all Division staff
Sustains Division workload
Fosters the maintenance and development of customer relationships
Makes certain that Division proposals are complete and financially rigorous
Oversees Division business development
Accountable for the content of all Division proposals
Effectively collaborates with other Divisions and Departments for our customers, personnel and/or company
Seeks company growth through leadership of company strategic initiatives, and coordination with market directors
Accountable for Division budgets
