About The Position

The Substance Abuse Program Director coordinates and directs all services for residents in the programs. This role is responsible for developing and meeting the goals of all assigned contracts and supervising all assigned program staff. The Director will also network with the recovery community and other service providers, and represent the agency in all required areas.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of alcohol and/or other drug related problems, including withdrawal effects of alcohol and other drugs.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time experience supervising staff providing direct services to clients in the alcohol and other drug field and/or equivalent working experience in a supervisor role.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with the provision of state licensed and/or certified residential non-medical alcohol and other drug abuse recovery treatment detoxification services.
  • CPR/ First Aid Certified
  • Previous experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields.
  • Mature judgment and professional demeanor.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive supervisory experience in a residential setting.
  • Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent professional and personal boundaries with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct all services for residents in the programs.
  • Develop and meet the goals of all assigned contracts.
  • Supervise all assigned program staff.
  • Network with the recovery community and other service providers.
  • Represent the agency in all required areas.
  • Maintain an alcohol and drug-free environment.
  • Oversee admission criteria screening, intake process, individual and group sessions, participant referral procedures, and participant file documentation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 42 code of Federal regulations, Part 2, regarding confidentiality.
  • Ensure non-discrimination in delivery of services.
  • Oversee participant discharge and follow-up procedures.
  • Meet the objectives set forth in funding contracts.
  • Ensure census is following G.L.O.M. standards.
  • Report to governmental agencies as required by contract and/or regulations.
  • Implement and support all program guidelines and rules.
  • Monitor budget and reporting requirements and make recommendations to the Senior Director.
  • Ensure assigned staff are trained on all aspects of the program and provide a platform for ongoing professional development.
  • Represent G.L.O.M. Substance Abuse Program in civic activities and attend program-related meetings.
  • Oversee all program-related events.
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of the site.
  • Plan and direct the Program’s class schedules with the Senior Director.
  • Support the continued development of the Program.
  • Ensure requests for medical records of residents and former residents are handled in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Provide internal audit regulatory of client records.
  • Assist with developing curriculum and resources for specialized training for group educational sessions.
  • Obtain specialized training and may develop resources to train other staff.
  • Implement and modify specialized training programs.
  • Present special group training throughout the agency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
