About The Position

Project Restore Brownsville is a community-based violence intervention and prevention initiative designed to support young people at elevated risk of involvement in gun violence. The program combines intensive case management, mentoring, trauma informed group work, and workforce development opportunities to stabilize participants, reduce violent behavior, and support long-term positive outcomes. Project Restore operates as an enhancement of existing BIVO work, strengthening continuity of care, supervision, and participant engagement across systems. The person filling this position is expected, under close supervision, to provide overall vision, leadership, and strategic oversight for Project Restore Brownsville. This role is responsible for ensuring program fidelity to restorative, transformative, and human justice principles while maintaining alignment with institutional partners, community stakeholders, and funding requirements. The Program Director ensures that program implementation, outcomes, and community impact remain centered on healing, accountability, and long-term safety for participants and the broader Brownsville community. Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures. Comply with all Federal, State, City, and CAMBA security and privacy policies to protect the confidentiality of individual health information. Ensure the safety and security of all participants by following program protocols and procedures, including supervision, accident and incident reporting. Provide overall leadership, vision, and strategic direction for Project Restore Brownsville. Ensure program fidelity to restorative justice, trauma-informed, and community-based violence intervention models. Supervise, coach, and support senior program staff, including the Program Manager and other designated supervisory roles. Oversee cross-site coordination and alignment between Project Restore and BIVO operations to ensure continuity of care and avoid duplication. Serve as the primary liaison to institutional partners, including KCDA, DYCD, Columbia University partners, and other funders or stakeholders. Lead program planning, implementation, and continuous quality improvement efforts. Oversee program performance management, including outcome tracking, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements. Collaborate with internal leadership on budgeting, staffing models, and resource allocation. Support the development, review, and implementation of program policies, procedures, and internal protocols. Ensure that staffing structures and supervision models support participant safety, staff accountability, and program effectiveness. Represent Project Restore Brownsville in meetings, briefings, and community forums as needed. Support crisis response, incident review, and high-level problem-solving related to participant or community safety concerns. Promote a program culture centered on healing, accountability, equity, and long-term community safety. Tasks may be modified, expanded, and/or assigned over time to meet program needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, public administration, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in community-based programs, violence intervention, social services, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing complex, multi-partner programs.
  • Strong understanding of restorative justice, trauma-informed care, and community violence intervention strategies.
  • Experience working with system-impacted youth and young adults.
  • Strong communication, partnership management, and organizational skills.
