About The Position

The Institute for School-Community Partnerships, Integrated Services, and Child Mental Health and Educational Policy (ISCP), part of the College of Education, aims to empower schools to create safe, effective, and efficient environments for student academic, social, and emotional growth, while actively engaging families and communities. With a budget of nearly $23 million from various sources, ISCP focuses on implementing and evaluating research-based practices through training, technical assistance, community-engaged research, developing resources, and supporting partner capacity in implementing federal and state educational policy. The Director will support Strategic Improvement initiatives, providing direction and oversight for specific federal programs. This role involves full administrative responsibility for staff oversight, program development and implementation, and budget monitoring, reporting to the Bureau Chief, State Grant Director, and Vice-Chancellor for Strategic Improvement. The Director must be productive, meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, maintain high performance, and interact professionally with all stakeholders, embodying the Department's core values of quality, fairness, cooperation, respect, commitment, excellence, honesty, and teamwork. This is a grant-funded position.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and seven years of professional experience; OR Master's degree and 5 years of professional experience.
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree (as per Senate Bill 1310, degree equivalency clause).

Responsibilities

Lead federal program development and oversight, including reviewing program applications and amendments, establishing and maintaining a budget aligned with FDOE goals, facilitating data collection and review to improve outcomes, and ensuring compliance with organizational, state, and federal rules and regulations.
Monitor school district compliance with federal program requirements, which includes reviewing stakeholder applications (plans, budgets, deliverables), developing annual compliance monitoring activities, and performing real-time monitoring and reporting.
Facilitate and provide training, technical assistance, guidance, and support to FDOE and school district personnel in areas such as grant management and compliance with federal and state rules and regulations, in coordination with Assistant Program Directors and staff.
Supervise and manage federal program staff, including directing operations, management, hiring, completing timely performance appraisals, developing work plans with objectives and task details, and approving attendance and leave for direct reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
