About The Position

The Program Director will be responsible for providing services and ensuring their team provides services to SBCS’ clients and the community, consistent with agency goals, objectives, mission, and style. This role involves facilitating the development and implementation of team goals and objectives, providing guidance and support to team members, and serving as a link to other teams and the Department Director. The Program Director is also responsible for staff development and evaluations in conjunction with the Department Director, and for facilitating team and individual problem-solving while recognizing achievements. This position performs the role and duties of a supervisor for the team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with current BBS registration as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, plus 2 years post licensure experience required.
  • Minimum of two years professional experience in managing and overseeing a program within the mental health services field, preferred.
  • Possess initiative, ability to set goals, and prioritize while being highly organized
  • Ability to work independently and effectively problem-solve.
  • Experience working with CCBH/Cerner/SmartCare highly recommended.
  • Ability to network, develop, navigate and maintain strong partner relationships.

  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances which may include a Department of Justice criminal background check requiring fingerprints (Live Scan), screening through the National Sex Offender Public Website, drug test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and such additional clearances as may be required under the program.
  • Candidates/employees who have received a conditional offer of employment will be required to undergo testing for controlled substances, (including THC), in accordance with the County of San Diego's drug and alcohol policy and the federal Controlled Substances Act.
  • Candidate is required to have reliable transportation; therefore, the candidate must successfully complete a motor history check. Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver’s license and valid auto insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Overall management of the Children’s Mental Health program including program development, goal & daily operations planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Hiring, training, supervising, developing, motivating and evaluating staff and student interns performing program services.
  • Maintain effective communication with student interns and immediate team members.
  • Working with program staff to develop a strategic plan, program goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage program budget and expenses.
  • Oversee the accuracy of the program’s electronic health records (EHR) and billing system.
  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to licensed and pre-licensed clinicians to ensure quality of care and professional development.
  • Prepare reports and maintain statistical data and other vital information.
  • Conduct team meetings, in-service training, and individual supervision meetings with staff.
  • Ensure program staff, student interns, and subcontractors are adhering to contractual requirements.
  • Ensure annual program goals and objectives, including billing and productivity standards, are met.
  • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the programs’ electronic client records and billing processes.
  • Prepare and review required programmatic reports, ensuring compliance and data integrity, and monitor staff’s monthly statistics as required.
  • Oversight of clinicians, including billing, productivity, quality of services, and invoices.
  • Review staff’s, student intern’s, and subcontractors’ client case files.
  • Oversight of subcontractors, including billing, productivity, quality of services, and invoices.
  • Plan and facilitate program outreach and build strong collaborative relationships with the South Region school districts.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to clients and clinical guidance to staff when necessary.
  • Participate in County and collaborative meetings as required and requested.
  • Communicate regularly with agency clinical supervisors to ensure quality services are provided.
  • Coordinate services with other SBCS Program Directors, school districts, and community partners to ensure effective collaboration and systems integration.
  • Attend agency required trainings and leadership team, department, staff, and assigned committee meetings.
  • Participate in agency special events and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
