About The Position

The Program Director of Clubs is responsible for assisting the development and management of sport programs, ensuring the effective operation of FCA Sports processes, systems, and resources across Clubs. This role requires a dynamic leader who can seamlessly integrate sports management with ministry, fostering a Christ-centered Club that promotes both athletic excellence and spiritual growth. The Program Director of Clubs will oversee the day-to-day administration of FCA Club Sports while helping create an environment where coaches and athletes are encouraged to grow in their faith. This position may be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate's experience, availability, and ministry responsibilities. This role exists to use the platform of competitive sports to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Requirements

  • Lead, conduct, and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly services.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs at all times.
  • Leadership experience in coaching, athletics, ministry, education, or nonprofit work (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the development and management of sport programs.
  • Ensuring the effective operation of FCA Sports processes, systems, and resources across Clubs.
  • Managing club operations, establishing logistics, securing facilities, and assisting relationships with governing bodies, Clubs, and tournaments.
  • Developing outreach strategies, expanding program offerings, and cultivating strategic partnerships to grow the number of participants.
  • Fulfilling all FCA administration requirements for registration, certification, coaches qualification, financial stewardship and training.
  • Registering Clubs in VIP.
  • Ensuring comprehensive training and implementation of the Club Management System (Sports Connect).
  • Assisting Coach and Volunteer Onboarding using the VIP.
  • Managing financial operations related to the Clubs.
  • Fulfilling all external administration requirements with governing bodies, Clubs, tournaments, referee associations, and playing facilities.
  • Organizing and managing games and tournaments, including entry and hosting.
  • Coordinating the procurement and distribution of uniforms and equipment.
  • Securing facilities for training and competition by coordinating contracts, leases, and new facility visions with the Support Center and appropriate FCA supervisors.
  • Ordering uniforms and coaches gear through FCA Gear specialist.
  • Ensuring that all coaches and staff members stay current with all applicable governing bodies related to their sport and certification/training required.
  • Collaborating with facility contacts on usage protocols.
  • Organizing and managing evaluations, coach & referee training, practices, games, end of season tournaments, and end of season celebration events.
  • Creating calendars to include tryouts, training dates, competition dates, camps and other ministry opportunities.
  • Actively training coaches by modeling, assisting, watching, and launching them into their roles and setting up mentorship programs to build the bench of coaches through assistant coaching roles.
  • Supervising try-outs, practices, and games to ensure both sport and ministry excellence.
  • Focusing on providing quality parent communication and ministry.
  • Developing relationships with governing bodies and other Clubs in your area, engaging them with the Gospel through your work alongside them and your commitment to excellence and integrity when dealing with them.
  • Providing resources/connections to help athletes further their playing/educational career.
  • Marketing Clubs well/Recruiting families and athletes.
  • Addressing and resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key staff members of local churches for Clubs.
  • Integrating local church involvement with Clubs to ensure continued ministry after the sports season ends.
  • Ensuring FCA is engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches, athletes, and volunteers through 1-on-1s, Huddles and events.
  • Integrating ministry within sports, focusing on spiritual growth alongside athletic excellence.
  • Leadership and oversight of E3 discipleship programs and building a community around the sport.
  • Building a community of coaches committed to growing, sharing, celebrating, and gathering around the sport they love.
  • Implementing the comprehensive FCA Sports E3 Strategy for coaches, athletes, and parents within the Clubs.
  • Leading and overseeing the discipleship and development opportunities for coaches, athletes, and families.
  • Ensuring the recruiting, training, and developing of volunteers is strategically aligned with the goal of growing the ministry in the Club.
  • Building your bench through developing others who can move into your role and other key leadership roles as needs arise.
  • Connecting, communicating, and caring for existing and prospective financial partners to get fully funded.
  • Managing and stewarding the finances for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Establishing and executing an annual budget and funding plan by growing the Home Team, major donors, and events.
  • Initiating opportunities for players and families to raise funds for the ministry.
  • Ministering to donors and board members through consistent connection, communication and care.
  • Engaging with donors, forming advisory teams, and leading fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinating registration and player administration for FCA Club Sports.
  • Assisting team logistics including schedules, practice locations, tournaments, and facilities.
  • Supporting coach onboarding, volunteer requirements, and compliance.
  • Coordinating uniforms, equipment, and other program needs.
  • Communicating regularly with coaches, families, and volunteers.
  • Helping ensure programs run with excellence, organization, and hospitality.
  • Building meaningful relationships with coaches and athletes.
  • Encouraging and discipling coaches to lead with both competitive excellence and Christ-centered character.
  • Helping implement FCA's E3 discipleship strategy throughout Club Sports.
  • Leading or assisting with team devotionals, Bible studies, prayer opportunities, and spiritual conversations.
  • Connecting athletes and families to local churches and ongoing ministry opportunities.
  • Creating a culture where faith is intentionally integrated into athletics.
  • Recruiting, equipping, and supporting volunteer coaches and leaders.
  • Helping grow FCA Club Sports by building relationships with athletes, families, and community partners.
  • Assisting in recruiting new teams and expanding ministry opportunities throughout Northeast Iowa.
  • Representing FCA with professionalism, integrity, and a servant's heart.
