Program Director, CCS Foster Care

About The Position

LSSI is growing and seeking a Program Director for its CCS Foster Care program. This role involves strategic planning, program development, and direct supervision of staff. The Program Director will be responsible for program budgets, effectiveness, and risk mitigation, ensuring all operational duties are met, including those outside of normal business hours and across the state. The position requires demonstrating professional, positive behavior and carrying out responsibilities with integrity, treating all individuals with dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or related DCFS/COA acceptable degree required.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required.
  • State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a managerial/supervisory role and experience with Child Welfare required.
  • Demonstrated ability to display positive organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer proficiency as needed by the program and willingness to increase skills as required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in strategic planning and goal setting for the programs and develop procedures and systems that enhance the effectiveness of the programs.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review and evaluation for Child Welfare Supervisors and other assigned staff.
  • Develop, implement, and is accountable for the program budgets along with evaluation of program effectiveness as it relates to cost and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other management staff in programs and network on programmatic, fiscal, organizational and community issues.
  • Maintain staffing requirements and assign responsibilities for coordination and organization of the program staff activities.
  • Oversee program activities, evaluate program effectiveness, and proactively identify and mitigate program risks timely.
  • Ensure completion of all employment-related driving duties and responsibilities during various hours of operation which include day, night, weekend, holidays, normal business hours, after-hours, and extended distance throughout the state.
