About The Position

The Program Delivery Associate plays an essential role in supporting the local team in achieving its mission and performance goals. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Program Associate offers day-to-day vocational, operations and administrative support to participants and staff, data reporting and analysis support to meet performance goals, and project support. As part of our mission, we strongly encourage individuals who have lived experience of incarceration or involvement in the justice system to apply for this role. The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides employment services to people recently released from incarceration. Across the United States, 8,000-9,000 people participate in CEO each year, transitioning to employment that supports themselves, their families, and their communities. What began as a demonstration project of the Vera Institute of Justice in the 1970s to address employment barriers facing the formerly incarcerated following release in New York City has grown into the leading reentry employment organization in the country, where over 30,000 formerly incarcerated individuals have secured full-time employment since 1996.

Requirements

  • You have 2+ years of related experience
  • You must be able to travel throughout the city in which site is located
  • You are comfortable conducting outreach and skilled in relationship building; ability to ascertain the priorities of a particular individual or group and craft persuasive written or verbal communication given those priorities
  • You have the ability to present content in a way that’s exciting and engaging to participants
  • You have excellent communication skills and flexibility to change up your style to ensure participant understanding
  • You are comfortable providing feedback and support necessary to facilitate the development of participant knowledge and skills
  • You are able to build rapport and collaborate with colleagues and external partners, and maintain a network of resources that support your work
  • You demonstrate respect, fairness, patience and efficiency to participants, employees and others
  • Analytical skills and can interpret data and apply findings to drive strategy and decision making
  • You are a strong task manager and independent worker with the ability to maintain oversight of details as you coordinate many moving pieces and projects
  • You have the ability to anticipate and solve problems as they come
  • You are comfortable with technology, including Excel, Google Suite and Salesforce

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deepen relationships with supervising officers and community based organizations, providing them with information about our work and building their commitment to referring a strong pipeline of participants for our program
  • Meet with supervising officers, sometimes at supervision offices, facilitating program referrals for prospective clients and leading presentations about our service offerings
  • Prepare well-prepared, organized, and clear content to participants
  • Prepare participants for CEO’s program model by ensuring they have sufficient documentation and are aware of all policies and practices
  • Guide and coach participants in key preparatory activities tied to employment, including resume creation, networking, and mock interviewing
  • Support participants to become job-start ready by promoting their development and effective utilization of communication and self-presentation skills
  • Engage participants in ongoing discussions about their employment goals and offer support, encouragement. and constructive feedback
  • Keeping supervising officers in the loop regarding individual participant progress
  • Track attendance of each class
  • Using motivational interviewing techniques as appropriate to help guide participants to goal achievement
  • Collect documents from participants
  • Review and ensure all documents received are in compliance with the requirements of the CEO program and federal and state regulations
  • Enter all needed information expeditiously and with accuracy into data system
  • Exchange information in a timely and collegial manner with all participants, referral representatives and all departments involved in the intake process
  • Offer support on day-to-day program operations and implementation, which can include but not limited to: participants communications, troubleshooting participant payroll issues, requesting employment verification letters, assisting participants to access pay stubs, and identifying community resources for participants
  • Assist with preparing meeting agendas and taking notes
  • Support service delivery and logistics across Program Support and Central teams for the implementation of pilot projects, organization-wide program enhancements, and recommendations from audits
  • Support projects led by local teams members in some sites, may support participants with applying for SNAP benefits, completing SNAP related paperwork, and/or liaising with external agencies supporting SNAP
  • In some sites, may provide training support and enrollment for participants
  • Pull Salesforce data reports, perform data analysis, and share out trends and recommendations
  • Additional duties as assigned
