About The Position
The Program Counselor assists the program supervisor and certified referee with game management for the recreation basketball league. The role maintains safety standards, follows and enforces town and department policies, and provides quality customer service to program participants. Work takes place during basketball season on Saturdays, with hours varying based on program needs.
Requirements
- American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification; a class is available upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the well-being of all participants in the gym during recreation basketball games on Saturdays.
- Provide positive customer service to participants, staff, guardians, and the public.
- Maintain safety and risk-management standards at all times.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist the site supervisor with game management as needed.
- Assist the site supervisor with keeping time and maintaining the scorebook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow and enforce town and department policies.
