About The Position

The Bloom University Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering trauma-informed training and support services for foster and kinship caregivers, child welfare staff, and community partners. This role strengthens caregiver capacity, improves placement stability, and enhances outcomes for children by equipping foster parents and child welfare professionals with practical tools and ongoing support. Additionally, the position ensures that foster parents and professionals are supported in learning, implementing, and maintaining trauma-informed care practices. The Bloom University Program Coordinator also advances Bloom University initiatives in collaboration with the Resilient West Central Georgia Coalition and other community partners.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a Human Services-related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum of three years’ consecutive training experience within a child welfare or behavioral health setting is required
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and computer/digital literacy, project management skills are required
  • Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral health, and Georgia foster care systems.
  • Strong organizational and relationship-building skills
  • Must have high standards of excellence and strong leadership skills
  • Must have a valid State of Georgia Driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Current licensure by the State of Georgia as an LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LMFT, or RN preferred.
  • Experience in trauma informed training, evidenced based curriculum development, or program implementation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve trauma-informed, evidence-based training programs that support foster parents, staff, families of vulnerable children, and community partners.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices and emerging research to ensure high-quality, relevant training content.
  • Design training curricula, structures, and delivery methods aligned with program goals and therapeutic models.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze training outcomes, identify trends and gaps, and recommend improvements to strengthen program effectiveness and support strategic direction.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and case staffings as needed to evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Deliver and/or oversee the delivery of training, including group, virtual, in-person, and one-on-one sessions, tailored to the needs of participants.
  • Facilitate training using evidence-based models, including NTDC, CPI, TBRI, QPR, and other trauma-informed curricula.
  • Coordinate and oversee training for foster care staff as directed by the Senior Vice President of Foster Care and Prevention Services.
  • Supervise and manage contracted trainers to ensure quality and consistency in training delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate training opportunities, including in-person, virtual, and web-based formats, as well as training delivered by external partners.
  • Manage monthly training calendars, including communication, registration, and distribution of training certificates.
  • Prepare and facilitate training logistics, including scheduling, securing locations, managing virtual platforms, and ensuring materials and supplies are available.
  • Build/maintain effective working relationships with foster parents, staff, and community partners.
  • Support the recruitment and retention of foster and kinship families by ensuring timely, relevant, and accessible training opportunities.
  • Identify the training needs of foster parents in collaboration with foster care staff and provide foster parents with therapeutic, evidence-based training and opportunities for continuous development.
  • Provide and/or oversee Parent Coaching and Support Sessions in conjunction with the Family Consultant Supervisor and Licensing Specialists for caregivers of therapeutic foster children to enhance placement stabilization and prevent placement disruption.
  • Provide foster parents with guidance and behavior management strategies to support the placement of therapeutic foster children.
  • Provide and/or oversee monthly foster parent support group meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, completion, and certification requirements in Bloom’s training database (in SharePoint), foster parent/staff files, ASI-WARE, and GA SCORE.
  • Track training hours to ensure compliance with annual certification and licensing standards.
  • Ensure training activities align with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and national accreditation standards.
  • Provide regular reports and documentation to leadership as needed.
  • Ensure fidelity in implementing evidence-based training models and compliance with the organizations that oversee approved models (e.g., TBRI GA, NTDC, Crisis Prevention Institute).
  • Maintain the Bloom Connect platform as a centralized resource for training opportunities, materials, educational content, and supportive resources.
  • Assist with grant writing and program development efforts as requested.
  • Serve as Bloom’s co-lead representative for the RWCG Coalition, helping guide strategy and regional initiatives that promote resilience, prevent ACEs, and improve behavioral health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with coalition partners to strengthen cross-sector alignment and advance trauma-informed systems of care.
  • Lead the coordination and delivery of training initiatives for caregivers, professionals, and community partners.
  • Facilitate coalition meetings, partner engagement, and ongoing communication across stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners to expand coalition reach and impact.
  • Track and report on key activities, outcomes, and performance metrics in collaboration with other co-lead organizations to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Assist with grant implementation, reporting, and sustainability efforts in collaboration with other co-lead organizations.
  • Coordinate logistics for training, meetings, and coalition activities, ensuring alignment with deliverables and timelines.
