About The Position

The Chicagobility Program Coordinator is a seasonal position responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading a six-week workforce development program for youth. In collaboration with site staff, the Coordinator will engage participants in career readiness and project-based learning aligned with high-growth industries. This role focuses on preparing youth for employment by building practical skills, setting expectations for workplace behavior, and exposing participants to real-world career pathways.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Experience working with youth in a structured setting
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, energetic, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to accept feedback and work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in after-school or summer programming
  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead a project connected to a high-growth industry
  • Coordinate guest speakers and industry exposure opportunities
  • Support youth in obtaining required employment documents
  • Provide coaching and feedback on work readiness and professional behavior
  • Guide youth in identifying next steps toward employment or career pathways
  • Facilitate and supervise all daily program activities for youth participants
  • Serve as the primary liaison between participants, agency staff, and DFSS personnel
  • Build strong relationships with youth and promote a positive group culture
  • Support team building and collaboration across participant cohorts
  • Connect youth to wraparound services within the agency and through external partners
  • Monitor participant progress in project-based learning and skill development throughout the program
  • Plan and implement program activities and service projects
  • Develop strategies to maintain strong youth engagement and retention
  • Collect and manage required participant documentation, including: Parent/Guardian Consent Forms, ULBGC Membership Enrollment, Birth Certificate (copy), Proof of Chicago Residency, Daily attendance records
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in Cityspan and other required platforms
  • Implement and track program performance measures and outcomes
