The Program Coordinator provides program coordination, operational support, stakeholder engagement, and administrative leadership support for the Office of Rural Health. Working closely with the Director, this position supports the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of rural health initiatives designed to strengthen healthcare access, quality, workforce development, and collaboration across Iowa rural communities and hospitals. In partnership with the Director, the Program Coordinator serves as a point of coordination for the Office relationships with Critical Access Hospitals, Rural Health Network members, healthcare leaders, physicians, quality teams, and external stakeholders. The position coordinates meetings, educational programs, quality initiatives, peer review activities, and special projects while ensuring timely follow-through on operational priorities and strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining project management systems, tracking deliverables, coordinating communications, supporting executive engagement activities, facilitating stakeholder collaboration, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations across the Office of Rural Health portfolio. The Program Coordinator works independently on a variety of complex assignments while exercising judgment regarding priorities, timelines, stakeholder needs, and operational processes. This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization now or in the future.
