About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, coordinate and administer assigned programs and day-to-day activities related to the Divinity School, Pluralism, Free Inquiry and Belonging Initiative, and Transformative Ideas. The position is funded by a grant through December 31, 2028.

Requirements

  • Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.
  • Work requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Nice To Haves

  • MA/PhD strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with academic humanities programming, especially interdisciplinary activities

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support and coordination at events, including student reading groups, lectures, and informal talks (across both Trinity College and Duke Divinity School calendars).
  • Manage marketing and outreach to participants and stakeholders as well as academic content for wider audiences to amplify visibility of programs.
  • Assist with a new summer residential seminar for underprivileged high school students.
  • Assist with planning and executing university-wide Initiative on Pluralism, Free Inquiry, and Belonging. Responsible to plan, promote, and support student-facing meetings, lectures, and events. Coordinate visiting speakers, promote public events in the local community and more widely through communications support.
  • Assistance with co-curricular activities related to courses and leading small-group discussion sections for lecture courses.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
