About The Position

Assist with the day-to-day operations of program activities, supporting team efforts to expand programming and improve participant outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, employment, training, human services or other relevant degree.
  • Two to four years of experience in employment, training or human services.
  • Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish required.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of staff, program participants, funding partners and community agencies.
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license. Incumbent must also have reliable means of transportation to travel to various locations outside of the office.
  • Mental ability to handle pressures related to meeting deadlines, problem solving, coordinating multiple initiatives and fulfilling contract requirements.

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations affecting program operations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating activities related to assigned programs with the management team.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with unions, union training centers, non-union partners, educational institutions, and community organizations to enhance program reach and impact.
  • Work closely with the management and marketing team to develop and execute outreach strategies to promote programs to unions, employers, job seekers, and community partners.
  • Work with the management team to improve and/or expand programming aligned with labor market trends.
  • Assist with researching grants, sponsorships, and alternative funding sources to support program expansion and support grant writing efforts.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the program goals, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with the management team to ensure that the implementation of service plans to meet customer needs is carried out efficiently, effectively, and according to policies and regulations.
  • Assists in ensuring the program goals and objectives are met as specified by funding sources and the Corporation. Reports to supervisor on program progress and matters of concern; implements corrective plans of action as determined necessary.
  • Meets with staff regularly to discuss program participant progress, concerns or other related issues.
  • Identifies problem areas and service gaps and makes recommendations to management on policy and procedure changes.
  • Use data systems to retrieve activity reports and help monitor data accuracy and performance metrics.
  • Assist with auditing participant records and files to ensure compliance with corporate standards and funding source requirements.
  • Contributes to the team effort by performing other duties as assigned.
