About The Position

Under direction, plan, develop, implement and monitor assigned programs including the Youth Engagement Specialist (YES) Program and community resource and referral programming. Provide parental education training and provide case management/linkage services to any clients and their families referred by the Wayne and/or Holmes County Juvenile Court. Coordinate and direct operations for program to assure efficient and sound programmatic operations. Make recommendations and assist in the formulation of objectives, practices and plans.

Requirements

  • Combination of experience and education normally represented by a bachelor’s degree and from 2 to 3 years of related professional experience, including social service experience.
  • Must have the ability to relate to a wide variety of people, as well as represent the site to outside organizations
  • Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships with referral sources and the clients that we serve.
  • Ability to work with diverse client population, community organizations as well as staff.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to maintain communication with referral sources and internally with other staff.
  • Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office.
  • Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the activities of Youth Engagement Specialist (YES) Program and any of the juvenile court referred programs as well as Community Resources and Referral programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the juvenile courts and any other funders of the programs.
  • Communicate regularly with juvenile courts in Wayne and Holmes Counties; attend meetings as assigned.
  • Coordinate and monitor the referrals that come from the juvenile courts to ensure that communication is occurring across the various programs within Catholic Charities.
  • Attend community outreach events and meetings to learn about community resources and build networking alliances.
  • Act as an advocate for Catholic Charities programming.
  • Attend law enforcement roll calls on a quarterly basis to explain the YES Program and to coordinate referrals.
  • This position involves some late afternoon and evening hours to deliver parenting education classes and early morning hours to participate in quarterly law enforcement roll calls.
