The Fresh Produce Program (FPP) is a Duke staff- and student-run organization whose mission is to strengthen food security and address nutrition-related health disparities in Durham through produce prescription and food access programs. Our direct-to-door delivery model provides over 600 households experiencing food security with biweekly deliveries of free, fresh, and locally-sourced produce and eggs on Saturday “Distribution Days,” which are complemented by a weekly first-come, first-serve walk-up table for members of the community. Our goal is to help facilitate partnerships between healthcare systems, community organizations, and local food producers and retailers to improve health through nutrition. FPP seeks a reliable, organized, and community-minded Distribution Day Manager to support our weekly operations of the Fresh Produce Program. This role focuses on coordinating the logistics of produce procurement and distribution, managing relationships with partner organizations, and ensuring that weekly deliveries run smoothly. The Distribution Day Manager will play a key role in maintaining the program’s weekly distribution workflow—from ordering produce and preparing delivery routes to managing distribution days and coordinating with community partners. This is a part-time position (approximately 15 hours per week) with standing time commitments on Friday and Saturday mornings.
