About The Position

BGC Okanagan is hiring a temporary, full-time Program Coordinator for our Youth Drop-In Program at the Westside Youth Centre. The Youth Drop-In Program supports young people by providing a fun, safe environment, meeting basic needs, and offering engaging activities. This temporary position runs from June 1, 2026, to July 6, 2027, or until the return of the incumbent.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years recent related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Diploma in a related human/ social service field.
  • First Aid certification and Food Safe certification or willingness to obtain
  • Class 4 Driver's Licence
  • Successful completion of the Agency screening process, including criminal record check
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizens, permanent residents and refugees in Canada with legal status).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned program.
  • Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates plans and programs designed to ensure that the needs of youth and families are met.
  • Ensures that program standards, guidelines and policies of BGCO are maintained and that all requirements are met.
  • Assists with the recruitment of program staff and volunteers including conducting interviews, selection, hiring, and orientation.
  • Authority for the day-to-day direction, performance feedback of program staff and volunteers.
  • Addresses staff workplace issues and assists in resolving workplace disputes.
  • Ensures that accurate program and client records are maintained and that confidentiality is a priority.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of quality and diverse programming.
  • Works closely with the Manager on program development, procedures, and evaluations.
  • Manages program budgets.
  • Ensures effective communication with staff and participants.
