About The Position

Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works is looking to fill our Program Coordinator Technical Training position. This role is responsible for managing Contracting Out administration and our Maintenance Apprenticeship program within a unionized manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Experience or knowledge of maintenance operations and technical trades.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Availability as needed to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a union manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of program coordinator experience or maintenance role.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, coordinate, and maintain continuous improvement of the Butler Works Maintenance Apprenticeship Program and Contracting Out Committee process.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator supporting labor-management initiatives designed to develop maintenance talent, improve workforce utilization, and facilitate the review of contracting opportunities.
  • Work closely with plant leadership, maintenance departments, training personnel, Human Resources, and the Union Contracting Out Chairman to ensure effective program execution and compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Coordinate all administrative aspects of the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program.
  • Partner with Training Coordinators and Maintenance leadership to schedule training and on-the-job learning opportunities.
  • Monitor apprentice progression and communicate status updates to management and union leadership.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of program curriculum, processes, and documentation.
  • Prepare information for recommendations related to workforce development and future apprentice staffing needs.
  • Track internal proposals, project status, deadlines, and management responses.
  • Provide regular reporting on contracting activity and outcomes.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration among Operations, Maintenance, and Union leadership.
  • Develop and maintain databases, tracking systems, reports, and dashboards.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality of program records.
  • Assist with special projects related to workforce development, technical training, and labor-management initiatives.
  • Participate in weekly planning meeting with maintenance managers and union to discuss upcoming projects
  • Overseeing and managing the daily/weekly training and scheduling of the apprentice pool employees
  • Other duties assigned.
