About The Position

Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) is seeking a Program Coordinator (SUN Site Manager) for Meadows Elementary School. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Regional Program Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, including student safety, schedule management, building logistics, and staff supervision. The role involves recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising program staff, as well as collaborating with partners. The SUN Site Manager builds and maintains relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners, while also creating a long-term vision for the program. Key responsibilities include overseeing program quality, ensuring grant compliance, and managing data entry for SUN and 21st CCLC offerings. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, and MFS/school district database systems is required. The position also involves developing a food program for families, including food deliveries and weekend food bags, in collaboration with volunteers and school staff. Requirements

  • Minimum two years of experience developing and managing youth or community-based programs
  • Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or program teams
  • Experience managing program budgets and resources
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in school or community settings
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with schools, families, and community organizations
  • Strong leadership, organization, and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Strong classroom and behavior management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
  • Basic understanding of employment laws and workplace regulations
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, and MFS database systems, and school district database systems
  • Ability to operate a personal computer
  • Valid driver license for the state of residency, personal auto liability insurance coverage, and a driving record permitting coverage under the agency auto liability policy
  • Completion of a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are preferred but not required
  • Fluency and ability to communicate effectively in languages in addition to English is preferred
  • MSW or MA preferred
  • Experience working in school based academic enrichment, recreation or social services programming is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate before-school, after-school, and summer programs that support student academic, enrichment, and family engagement goals
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, community partners, and advisory groups to develop and implement high-quality programming
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and support program staff and volunteers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community organizations
  • Engage families in program planning, leadership opportunities, and educational activities
  • Coordinate partnerships and community resources to meet student and family needs
  • Manage program operations, including scheduling, enrollment, budgets, data collection, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Lead outreach and marketing efforts to recruit students, families, volunteers, and community partners
  • Facilitate meetings, advisory committees, and family leadership groups
  • Ensure services are delivered through a culturally responsive and strengths-based approach
  • Support student success through positive behavior management and effective communication
  • Maintain confidential records and personnel documentation in accordance with agency policies
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development activities
  • Represent the organization professionally and promote its mission and programs
