About The Position

The City of Mission is seeking a collaborative and community-minded professional to join our team as the Program Coordinator – Safety & Prevention Outreach Team. This newly created position will play a key role in advancing a coordinated approach to community safety by bringing together municipal departments, public safety partners, social service agencies, and the business community to address complex social challenges and enhance community well-being. Reporting to the Manager of Community Wellness, you will act as the connection between enforcement and regulatory partners, including RCMP, Bylaw Enforcement, and Fire Rescue Services, and outreach teams, peer support workers, social service providers, and local businesses. You will coordinate community safety initiatives, support collaborative responses to emerging issues, build strong partnerships, and help improve service delivery throughout the community.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Public Administration, Criminology, Social Services, Community Development, or a related field
  • Minimum of four years of related experience in community programs, outreach, community safety, bylaw or regulatory coordination, or a similar environment
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED certification
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Organized and relationship-focused professional with strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
  • Comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, navigating sensitive situations, and balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Benefits

  • 4.4% in lieu of benefits increasing to 12.4% upon completion of the probationary period
