About The Position

Plans, develops, and implements responsible outreach and case management services to meet the needs of children and families in need of services. Work is performed in a manner that fosters economic and social self-sufficiency.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar in order to prepare and read documents and correspondences.
  • Knowledge of counseling and interviewing techniques.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in leadership techniques, customer service and the coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills to communicate Agency information effectively to other staff and outside representatives and to represent Agency positively in the community.
  • Ability to work effectively with children, parents and staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in organization and time management.
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to select the best solution and solve problems.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Ability to navigate the Internet.
  • Ability to gain knowledge of eligibility data for applicants.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work and communicate with people from various multi-cultural backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
  • Must be capable of working under pressure while remaining professional, exhibiting an upbeat attitude, and organizing and planning efficiently.
  • Sensitivity to the needs, abilities, beliefs, and attitudes of individuals within and outside the Agency, including but not limited to customers and co-workers.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, communications, public administration, psychology, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in social services, community outreach, public relations or related work.
  • Must meet criteria for background screening as required for child care personnel in child care licensing regulations.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and daily access to reliable transportation to and from work and for travel to off-site locations.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing essential job functions.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel to off-site locations.
  • The ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or qualitative productivity standards.
  • The ability to maintain reasonably, regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Compliance with all personnel policies of the Agency.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight to assigned staff and volunteers including recruitment, hiring, scheduling, supervision, training and support of the Operations Manual, How to Manual and Standard Operating Procedures for NCF’s, evaluation, termination and complaint resolution.
  • Communicates and coordinates work with the Director and other key 4C, NCF/CCC management personnel to ensure that program goals and objectives are met.
  • Facilitates the development, completion and analysis of a strategic plan to provide services to the community-at-large.
  • Provides comprehensive outreach, information and referral services for families in need of services including but, not limited to, tutorial services, case management, literacy, English as a second language, citizenship, and parenting classes.
  • May make periodic contact with clients in the field, either at home, or at other agencies.
  • Conducts presentations for community agencies and businesses on available services within the community and acts as a liaison for County programs with partners, stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Oversees and administers all related data systems, including the coordination and tracking of all assigned client information and collaborative staffing processes.
  • Creates, coordinates, reviews, evaluates and disseminates all programmatic reporting information to the appropriate parties involved.
  • Participates in the Agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
