About The Position

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the Recycling Education Program in accordance with CSET/SCC, CalRecycle, and grant requirements. The incumbent is responsible for leading day-to-day program activities and Corpsmembers, developing and monitoring grant milestones, compiling and analyzing program data and statistics, preparing required reports and program narratives, maintaining accurate documentation, developing new accounts and community partnerships, and coordinating recycling education and outreach activities to ensure program goals and deliverables are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead day-to-day Recycling Education program operations and Corpsmember work assignments, providing guidance, training, coaching, and mentorship while promoting teamwork, accountability, professionalism, safety, and the development of technical and soft skills; monitor the quality and completion of assigned work and communicate performance, conduct, attendance, safety, or other concerns requiring formal supervisory action to appropriate management
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor program work plans, schedules, activities, grant milestones, deliverables, and operational priorities to ensure Recycling Education activities are completed timely and in accordance with CalRecycle, grant, contractual, organizational, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in Recycling Education and community outreach activities, including presentations, community events, CRV education and collection activities, Dock Walks, signage reviews, and other recycling and environmental education initiatives; coordinate Corpsmember schedules and assignments based on presentations, events, required training hours, grant activities, and operational needs
  • Compile, track, analyze, and report program data and performance measures, including Corpsmember participation and training, education and outreach activities, grant milestones and deliverables, project outcomes, certifications, and other program statistics; evaluate data to identify trends, accomplishments, performance gaps, outstanding requirements, and areas requiring follow-up or improvement
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely program reports and supporting documentation, including CalRecycle reports, quarterly and statistical reports, program narratives, activity summaries, performance reports, and other internal or external reporting required by management, funding sources, grants, contracts, municipalities, and program partners
  • Develop and maintain effective program tracking, reporting, and recordkeeping systems to monitor grant deliverables, program performance, Corpsmember participation and training, certifications, outreach activities, inventory, equipment, and other operational requirements; ensure documentation is complete, accurate, organized, and readily available for reporting, monitoring, and audit purposes
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver Recycling Education training, curriculum, presentations, educational materials, and program resources; monitor Corpsmember training progress, required hours, certifications, and completion of established program requirements, and provide additional instruction or coaching as necessary
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with schools, businesses, municipalities, public agencies, community organizations, sponsors, and other partners; identify and develop new accounts, partnerships, presentations, events, and outreach opportunities that expand program participation, visibility, and community impact
  • Maintain current knowledge of CalRecycle standards, grant and contractual requirements, recycling regulations, local municipality requirements, and emerging recycling and environmental education initiatives, and assist with incorporating applicable changes into program procedures, activities, training, tracking, and reporting
  • Support department leadership with program planning, grant development and implementation, monitoring reviews, audits, budget and expenditure tracking, and continuous improvement efforts by providing accurate data, reports, documentation, analysis, and operational information needed to evaluate program performance and support management decision-making
  • Coordinate program supplies, educational materials, equipment, inventory, and other resources necessary to support Recycling Education activities, and maintain appropriate records regarding their assignment, use, inventory, and condition
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to coordinate services, resolve program needs, support Corpsmember development, and accomplish departmental, contractual, and grant objectives; represent CSET/SCC professionally at community meetings, presentations, events, and partner engagements
  • Ensure assigned program activities and work sites operate in accordance with CSET policies and procedures, applicable safety standards, grant requirements, and established program expectations
  • Collaborates with and provides cross-functional support to colleagues as needed, including assisting with program activities, participant services, coverage, and time-sensitive priorities to support effective program operations and continuity of services
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with established work schedules, attendance expectations, operating procedures, organizational policies, and applicable program requirements
