The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans. This person will be working closely with the Director of Graduate Studies, Director of Graduate Admissions Program, Department Chair, the Assistant Program Director, all staff members and all graduate students in our program. Main responsibilities will include tracking the admissions process and administering new student recruitment, student enrollment, RA/TA space allocation, degree tracking, Attending and taking notes at committee meetings, organizing poster/paper sessions each semester, scheduling PhD defenses and degree clearances, TATTOO tracking, assisting with Dean’s Teaching Fellowship applications, PhD placement, reviewing graduate course schedule and course evaluations, and ensuring compliance with LGS policies and procedures. This is an administrative position managing the graduate program of the Department of Political Science, which is a unit under Emory College of Arts and Sciences. As a member of the administrative team within the department, this position will support department-wide initiatives, which may include: event planning, travel planning, purchasing supplies and finance reimbursements and payments, in addition to other related responsibilities as required.
