About The Position
Harborview - Pioneer Square Neighborhood Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator/Scheduler. The Pioneer Square Clinic provides primary healthcare and treats acute problems for adult patients. It includes an in-office pharmacy, mental healthcare professionals, podiatry, social services, dietician consultations, and health education.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR An equivalent of education/experience
- Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
Responsibilities
- Review and prioritize incoming referrals from multiple sources using their knowledge of each physician’s specialized skill set
- Triage incoming referrals to assure the appropriate specialist will be reviewing referrals
- Handle intake of each referral requests, ensuring complete information is received and entered into the electronic medical record system in a timely manner
- Schedule initial patient appointments either in person or via Telemedicine based on provider and patient preference
- Coordinates appointments for the patient at the appropriate facility and assists with urgent insurance authorization or financial assistance
- Manage and resolve a high volume of phone inquiries and messages
- Review appointment follow-up requirements and expectations with patients
- Educate them to ensure adequate understanding of the purpose of each appointment and follow-up recommendations
- Offer financial assistance to self-pay and underinsured patients. Provide them with the necessary steps to apply for financial counseling
- Building provider schedules
- Serve as a primary program contact to other departments, patients, providers outside facilities
