The Data Coordinating Center (DCC) is a multidisciplinary team that supports complex, multi-site clinical research and collaborative learning networks across Seattle Children’s Research Institute and external partners. Our team specializes in the design, coordination, and operational management of multicenter clinical studies, providing expertise in project management, data coordination, regulatory oversight, and research infrastructure. In addition to traditional clinical research, the DCC plays a key role in advancing Learning Health Systems and quality improvement (QI) initiatives, helping clinical networks use real-world data to continuously improve patient care and outcomes. We work closely with investigators, clinicians, and national collaborators to translate data into actionable insights that accelerate discovery and improve the health of children. Essential duties of the role include but are not limited to: Logistics: Scheduling complex meetings, booking travel, and processing reimbursements. Documentation: Formatting slide decks, editing public-facing LHN information, and assisting with bio-sketches. Operations: Tracking invoices, coordinating budget line items, and routing manuscript drafts for author feedback. Project Support: Coordinating team schedules, ensuring project resources are produced and distributed, and responding to project inquiries in a timely manner. Technical Management: Maintaining up-to-date databases and electronic systems, and utilizing collaborative online tools (MS Project, Wikis) to support distributed teams. Performance Improvement: Capturing data regarding opportunities for improvement and identifying new internal process enhancements. SERIES CONCEPT: A program is a specialized area with specific complex components and discrete tasks which distinguish it from the main body of the organization. There is a defined plan to accomplish a particular objective with elements and scope that distinguish it from the usual scope and responsibilities of a department or functional area. The specialized tasks involve interpretation of policies, procedures and regulations, independent functioning and public contact. A program typically has a long-term focus with an expectation that the plan/program will serve or impact on-going needs or goals. The primary responsibilities and accountabilities are typically transferable from one program to another. The performance of administrative tasks are in support of the individual's performance specific to the program.
