About The Position

The Program Coordinator I at the Jordan YMCA is primarily responsible for supervising a designated teen programs area under the direction and supervision of the Program Director. The role may assist with supervising employees and volunteers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation. The coordinator helps maintain and improve program quality and participant involvement and retention, and stays aware of current trends in the field. The position may also serve as a member of the YMCA Management Team when needed.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2–3 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of YMCA programs and volunteers.
Computer, personnel management, organizational, scheduling, and record-keeping skills.
Exemplary human relations and motivational skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information about children, families, and YMCA staff.
Current certifications in CPR Heartsaver, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, and New Employee Orientation, or the ability to obtain them within 60–90 days of employment.
Ability to maintain appropriate program documentation and statistical reporting.
