Recruitment range is $39,244 - $53,000 Employees in this position determine an applicant’s eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits based on the reason the individual separated from their last employer. Employees review and evaluate claim information and, if needed, investigate conflicting information provided by applicants and employers. Employees also ensure that all pertinent information used to evaluate the claim is documented in the case file and apply applicable law to issue formal eligibility determinations at the end to the review. This work requires considerable interpretation of laws and rules and the ability to analyze facts to determine the appropriate course of action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in eligibility determination, case management, and claims processing, including evaluating applications, maintaining detailed client records, and coordinating services to ensure timely and accurate benefit delivery.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills in order to obtain relevant and accurate information from all interested parties in a timely manner.
  • The ability to analyze facts, evaluate conflicting information, and correctly apply relevant law to those facts in a production-oriented environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment.
  • Applications must contain comprehensive information, including all work experience with beginning and ending dates, education with graduation dates, and certificates/licenses.
  • Applications for positions requiring specific coursework must be accompanied by a copy of the applicant's transcript.
  • If applicants earned college credit hours but did not complete a degree program, they must attach an unofficial transcript to each application to receive credit for this education.
  • Foreign degrees require an official evaluation for U.S. equivalency and must be submitted to Human Resources for verification.

  • Gather and review claim information.
  • Make initial determinations for unemployment claims.
  • Make first-level decisions regarding an individual’s continued eligibility for benefits based on weekly filing requirements.
