About The Position

Urban Alliance Baltimore is seeking an experienced youth development professional to serve as a Program Coordinator supporting high school students participating in paid internship and apprenticeship pathways. The Program Coordinator is responsible for delivering high-quality program implementation, managing a student caseload through structured coaching and case management, facilitating professional development workshops, and maintaining strong partnerships with employers, schools, and families. This role serves as the primary point of contact for assigned students and workplace mentors, reporting to the Program Manager. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, organized, and comfortable upholding clear expectations in professional settings while providing structured support to students. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  • At least two years of experience in youth development, education, workforce development, or a related field
  • Experience providing case management, advising, or coaching to high school students
  • Teaching or group facilitation experience required
  • Strong relationship-building skills with youth and adult stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including conflict mediation
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a cohort of high school students participating in paid internships or apprenticeship programs
  • Monitor students’ professional, academic, and workplace performance
  • Conduct structured 1:1 coaching sessions focused on workplace readiness, professional growth, and post-secondary planning
  • Support students in meeting program benchmarks, including attendance, workplace expectations, hour requirements, and credential completion (as applicable)
  • Provide individualized guidance on resume development, LinkedIn profiles, interview preparation, and college or career pathways
  • Maintain timely and accurate case notes and documentation
  • Implement performance improvement plans as necessary to ensure students are held accountable and given opportunities to grow
  • Facilitate professional development workshops before and throughout student work placements
  • Deliver a polished and curated curriculum focused on workplace skills, communication, accountability, and career exploration
  • Create engaging, structured learning environments that reinforce high expectations
  • Foster a collaborative environment that allows students to learn from each other and develop positive relationships
  • Debrief workplace experiences and help students translate challenges into learning opportunities
  • Serve as the primary liaison for assigned employer partners, workplace mentors, and school staff
  • Support mentors in structuring student work plans and professional development opportunities
  • Conduct bi-weekly check-ins and structured site visits (as assigned)
  • Facilitate performance evaluations
  • Troubleshoot and mediate workplace conflicts
  • Maintain professional relationships with school staff, families, and community partners
  • Represent Urban Alliance at recruitment events and community meetings as needed
  • Track and monitor student attendance, workplace hours, and performance benchmarks
  • Document student progress in organizational data systems
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and evaluation team to respond to data requests
  • Ensure compliance with program requirements and reporting timelines
