About The Position

The Program Coordinator for Belonging Programs is an integral member of the team primarily responsible for overseeing programmatic initiatives that support Multicultural Student Center dual-affiliated student organizations, including management of the dual-affiliation program (serving 90+ orgs annually) and administration of the MSC Grant which funds student organization events (disbursing up to $35,000 annually). The program coordinator serves as a resource for affiliated student organizations by providing guidance, support, and referrals to effectively navigate university policies and procedures and by developing workshops and trainings that support organizational development, success and sustainability. The program coordinator maintains a network of communication with relevant campus partners, including the office for Student Organizations, Leadership & Involvement. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Belonging Programs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience planning, organizing, and executing student-focused events, programs, or educational initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate dialogue groups, programs, and workshops
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, and electronic)
  • Ability to foster collaborative networks and partnerships to benefit students
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with complex logistics, including the successful management and supervision of multiple facilities, staff, or volunteers
  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Demonstrated experience applying student leadership theory and praxis in a higher education setting is preferred.

  • Experience working with, advising, or managing student organizations, including navigating registration processes, policy compliance, or funding/grants.
  • Preferred degree areas: higher education/student affairs/organizational communication/development/leadership, or closely related areas.
  • Master's Degree - Preferred degree areas: higher education/student affairs/organizational communication/development/leadership, or closely related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Generates and analyzes reports of curricular and unit outcomes
  • Manages the MSC’s student organization affiliation program, including dual-registration process, tracking of requirements, provision of benefits, convening of leadership development workshops/conferences, ongoing consultation and support, and disbursement of grant funds
  • Support, supervise, and actively mentor student interns, fostering their personal and professional development, while cultivating a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment
  • Organizes student-focused programming and resources to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives
  • Creates and maintains schedules, logistics, and resources for one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services
  • Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
  • Serves as a subject matter expert regarding student affairs to internal and external stakeholders
