About The Position

The City of Redmond is seeking a creative and community-focused Program Coordinator to help develop and grow engaging youth, family, arts, cultural, and enrichment programs at the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village. This position plays a key role in creating programs and services that reflect the interests and needs of Redmond's diverse community. You'll identify emerging trends, gather community feedback, build partnerships, and develop new opportunities that bring people together through recreation, learning, creativity, and connection. We're looking for someone who can think entrepreneurially and strategically, someone who enjoys launching new programs, expanding participation, increasing attendance, and developing sustainable revenue-generating offerings. Success in this role requires the ability to connect with youth and families from a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, abilities, and interests and create welcoming experiences where everyone feels they belong. Working collaboratively with community organizations, artists, instructors, businesses, and City staff, you'll help activate the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village throughout the day, evening, and weekends. Whether coordinating an arts program, family event, cultural celebration, or new community initiative, you'll play an important role in shaping a vibrant community destination that serves residents of all ages and backgrounds. The regular schedule for this role includes evenings and weekends, with afternoon and evening hours aligned with teen programming and weekend hours to support inclusion offerings along with weekend programming and events.

Requirements

  • Three years’ experience in program coordination and development
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certifications (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, launch, and manage a diverse portfolio of youth, family, arts, cultural, and enrichment programs that respond to community interests and generate sustainable revenue.
  • Identify emerging trends, assess community needs, and create innovative programs that expand participation and strengthen community engagement.
  • Support the continued growth and enhancement of Camp Redmond, including new camp offerings and enrichment opportunities.
  • Explore and develop after-school, preschool, homeschool, and family-focused programs that address unmet community needs.
  • Manage program budgets, establish fees, monitor performance metrics, and evaluate program success to inform future offerings.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with schools, nonprofits, cultural organizations, businesses, artists, instructors, and community groups.
  • Collaborate with partners to expand programming opportunities, leverage community resources, and increase participation.
  • Represent Redmond Parks and Recreation at community meetings, outreach events, and public engagements.
  • Gather community feedback and market insights to help shape future programs, services, and events.
  • Coordinate instructors, contractors, volunteers, and support staff to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Develop marketing and outreach strategies that increase awareness, attendance, and customer engagement.
  • Utilize recreation management systems to monitor registrations, participation trends, and program outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to activate the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village throughout the day, evening, and weekends through strategic programming and partnerships.
  • Expand recreation opportunities throughout the Redmond park system and neighborhood locations, increasing access to programs across the community.
  • Support community events, special projects, and department initiatives that advance the goals of Redmond Parks and Recreation.
