About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled Program Consultant – Social Services to strengthen family engagement, support youth success, and enhance communication across secure-care and community-based programs. In this vital role, you will ensure that families have a clear voice in their child’s treatment journey, help resolve concerns before they escalate, and support reintegration efforts through strong partnerships with parents, staff, and community organizations. As a key resource for families, you will guide parents through orientation, assist with visitation processes, coordinate volunteer and faith-based services, and collaborate with advocacy groups to expand support networks. You will also help monitor program quality, gather essential data, and support special initiatives that improve outcomes for youth and families. We’re looking for a service-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for helping families navigate the juvenile justice system with clarity, dignity, and confidence.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services; OR An advanced degree in a social science field, public health, counseling, social work, rehabilitation services, business, public, or health administration, or Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services, public health, social services, or health services.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
  • Possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License.
  • Clear a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Support family orientation and engagement by distributing materials, contacting parents/guardians, assisting with visitation paperwork, and coordinating alternative visitation options.
  • Monitor the secure-care Volunteer Services Program, ensuring background checks, screenings, and required trainings are completed before volunteers begin service.
  • Receive and process family inquiries, redirect concerns to appropriate staff, and elevate unresolved issues to facility and regional leadership.
  • Maintain visitation logs, support quarterly parent meetings and family council meetings, and provide required engagement data to Central Office.
  • Coordinate with family-focused organizations, advocacy groups, and community agencies to support reintegration and expand service options for youth and families.
  • Assist with furlough-related processes and participate in ongoing training to support reintegration procedures.
  • Support regional volunteer and faith-based programs through recruitment, screening, training assistance, and data reporting.
  • Assist the Volunteer Service Coordinator and Staff Development with volunteer training and program facilitation.
