About The Position

Looking for a summer job that’s fun, by the waterfront and gets you access to one of Toronto’s most iconic events? Come join our team at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)! The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. With something for everyone, the CNE offers a wide range of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats! Requirements

  • Minimum Age Requirement: 14 years
  • Available to work flexible hours all 18 days of the fair (August 21st - September 7th, 2026), including evenings, weekends, and Labour Day
  • Available to attend one day of mandatory staff orientation and one day of mandatory job-specific training, scheduled to take place between early August – August 20, 2026. Exact dates to be confirmed
  • Outgoing and friendly disposition
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable, responsible
  • Patient
  • Takes initiative
  • Works effectively as part of a team and individually with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interacting with children of different ages an asset
  • Customer service interaction, problem solving, program facilitation, and communication experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Daily set up, operation and tear down of program area
  • Engage guests to participate in the activity/program
  • Provide information to guests about exhibits in an enthusiastic and informative manner
  • Supervise area to encourage safe operation as well as to protect against theft, loss, and breakage
  • Ensure adequate availability/quantity of activity supplies and restock when necessary
  • Ensure the program areas are properly maintained and presentable at all times
  • Answer basic questions from the general public regarding programming, attractions, facilities, services (i.e. location of nearest washrooms, bank machines, food vendors, Found Children, First Aid)
  • Miscellaneous duties for the operations of the area
