Program Assistant - Domestic Violence Programs

About The Position

The Program Assistant will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks within the Domestic Violence Programs. This includes monitoring records for required documentation, collecting documents from clients, and filing records. The role also involves greeting clients and visitors, logging them into the system, and directing them to the appropriate party. Additionally, the assistant will handle clerical duties such as processing payroll information, scheduling, and preparing reports. A key aspect of the role is understanding and adhering to agency and funding source guidelines, including HIPAA and Confidentiality protocols. The Program Assistant will also perform other tasks as assigned by the Director, Homeless Programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant
  • Experience with data entry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized and detailed
  • Ability to work independently, takes initiative, and works well as a team member
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and/or knowledge of homeless families including individuals whom identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly and individuals with substance abuse and/or mental health issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably working with abused families or women with special needs
  • Familiarity with DHS regulations
