About The Position

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Program Assistant will support the overall administration and coordination of the Summer Choral Academy. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 Years Related Experience
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills for coordinating rehearsals, performances, and event logistics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with students, faculty, and community participants.
  • Proven ability to provide on-site logistical support during rehearsals and choral events.
  • Familiarity with choral and vocal pedagogy, rehearsal processes, and ensemble management.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and committed to fostering community engagement through music.
  • Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
  • English language proficiency at level 4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the planning and execution of Academy activities, and events of McGill Choral Studies
  • Coordinating logistics for program components, including seminars, rehearsals, and performances
  • Supporting communication efforts such as managing social media accounts, designing posters, drafting publicity materials, and updating web content
  • Preparing and compiling program materials, including seminar readings and event resources
  • Assisting in the coordination and communication with guest artists, panelists, and participants
  • Supporting on-site logistics and providing hands-on assistance during events and concert days
