About The Position

The Student Outreach Service (SOS) Program - Assistant is a 10-month position that follows the school calendar, beginning August 2026. This role involves occasional nights and weekends as needed for events, with approximately 15 hours per week. The Assistant will support the Christian Service Outreach Department and Student Organized Service by handling behind-the-scenes office work, including scheduling, reservations, reviewing student service hours, and communicating with students and parents. They will also provide assistance to specific student organized service groups, focusing on supervision and practical details like printing flyers and reminding students of systems. Occasional driving of a school van to transport students to service events is required, as well as attending two to three overnight service trips as a chaperone and van driver. These trips receive a stipend in addition to hourly pay.

Requirements

  • Be highly organized, detail-oriented, relationally driven, flexible, and possess a positive, optimistic attitude.
  • Have a passion for the importance of service.
  • Able to relate personally with high school students on a daily basis, and welcome them.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Completing the ODE requirements for van certification, including passing the organization insurance requirements for driving.
  • Must be a believing Christian who is comfortable in a denominationally diverse Christian community with a heart for students.

Responsibilities
