About The Position

Allegro Foundation is looking for a kind, high-energy Program Assistant / Movement Instructor to join our full-time staff! If you love children and are eager to make an impact, we will provide full training in the Allegro Technique beginning on day one.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic graphic design (Canva or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Outgoing & High-Energy: Enthusiastic, animated personality capable of holding young children's attention.
  • Strong Leadership: Confident presence, able to project your voice and manage a classroom of students to musical counts.
  • Professionalism & Accountability: Respect for office rules, punctuality, and commitment to teaching the Allegro Technique as trained.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort making professional phone calls.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate smoothly on a high-functioning team, multi-task, and remain flexible to changing demands.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with a desire to grow professionally and accept constructive feedback.
  • Valid NC or SC driver’s license and access to reliable, insured transportation.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Attend Allegro curriculum meetings.
  • Assist Lead Teachers in preparing rooms and materials for class.
  • Assist Lead Teachers throughout classes with music, props, and student engagement.
  • May be required to dress up in a themed, child-friendly costume for specific classes.
  • Follow lesson plans from the Allegro curriculum and teach assigned 30-minute Movement Education classes to children with disabilities.
  • Attend choreography meetings with the Executive Director and fellow instructors.
  • Help conduct student assessments and evaluations.
  • General clerical duties and office organization.
  • Assistance with fundraising events, donor outreach, and office errands.
