The Housing and Essential Needs (HEN) program at Catholic Community Services (CCS) provides rent and utility assistance, bus passes, and essential needs products to disabled adults who are experiencing housing instability. Over 4,000 people are currently being served by HEN King County through a staff of 50. The program has Homeless Prevention and Homeless teams, a team of Resource Specialists that respond to the HEN Resource Line, an ORCA Lift program that provides free annual bus passes, and an Essential Needs team that creates hundreds of health & hygiene bags each month. The program operates out of the Randolph Carter Center (RCC) and Phoenix Center (Phoenix) in central Seattle, as well as two CCS family centers in Kent. HEN is a statewide program with an annual budget of $25 million. Eligibility is determined through DSHS and CCS is contracted through King County to deliver the services. This is a full time position located at The Phoenix Center (2329 Rainier Avenue, Seattle WA). The weekly schedule is M – F, 9am – 5pm. A majority of this position’s responsibility is to stock essential needs supplies, receive supply deliveries, and making essential need supply bags. Each bag contains 20+ cleaning and hygiene items that our clients depend on a monthly basis. This will require the employee to have an active driver’s license and complete a driving record check as part of the hiring process. This involves lifting and transporting items from the storage facilities at The Phoenix Center and storage unit to the other sites that need bags. This position is primarily based at 2329 Rainier Avenue, Seattle WA and the employee will need to reliably commute on-site M – F (Wednesdays will be in Kent for the afternoon).
