About The Position

This position provides professional support to all students in the program while collaborating with faculty to foster positive advising experiences. The goal is to provide personal growth, practical skills, knowledge, and experience in preparation for future employment within various Aviation career fields.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Aviation discipline or closely related field and a minimum of one (1) year experience in an aviation environment, which may include military, industry (airline, corporate, or airport), educational or professional aviation training (teaching at flight school or academy) or in higher education OR a minimum of an AAS degree and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in an aviation environment or in a higher education environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lawfully accept employment in the United States.
  • Conform to MN State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check for employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional support to all students in the program.
  • Collaborate with faculty to foster positive advising experiences.
  • Provide personal growth, practical skills, knowledge, and experience in preparation for future employment within various Aviation career fields.
  • Perform evening or weekend advising/orientation duties.
  • Supervise a Graduate Assistant (GA) that assists with accreditation site visits.
  • Conduct advising or accreditation site visit prep, potentially in the evening prior to the date of the visit.
  • Work safely at all times, including participating in and completing all required safety trainings.
  • Perform all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
