Assisted Living and Social Services (ALSS) provides supports for seniors, families, and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, continuing care, financial supports, affordable housing, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. Requirements

  • University graduation (4 years) in a related field such as Project Management, Social Sciences, Health Administration, Construction Administration, etc. plus four (4) years of progressively responsible related experience such as Program Development, Infrastructure Project Support, Grant Program Administration, Program Evaluation, Performance Measurement, etc.; or equivalent as described below.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex information and support informed decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders using clear, professional, and diplomatic verbal and written communication.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government, community, and industry partners.
  • Manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines using strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Adapt quickly to new systems, processes, and evolving program or operational requirements.
  • Apply sound judgment and attention to detail when coordinating projects, reviewing information, and supporting decision processes.
  • Show initiative and a commitment to continuous learning in areas related to continuing care, housing, and aging services.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering grant programs, including Requests for Grant (RFG) processes, funding agreements, and grant reporting.
  • Experience using SharePoint, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic information management systems to support project coordination and reporting.
  • Experience preparing briefing notes, action requests, reports, and other materials for senior leadership or decision-making purposes.
  • Experience conducting research, environmental scans, or policy analysis related to legislation, standards, or program requirements.
  • Experience coordinating projects or working with stakeholders across government, health care, housing, non-profit, or continuing care sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development, delivery, and administration of Continuing Care Capital Grant Programs (CCCPs) across all phases of the grant lifecycle.
  • Preparing and implementing Requests for Grants (RFGs), tracking submissions, and providing guidance to prospective applicants on program criteria and requirements.
  • Coordinating proposal evaluations, supporting project recommendation processes, and communicating outcomes to applicants.
  • Preparing grant funding agreements, amendments, and assignment documents, while supporting project accountability and reporting activities.
  • Maintaining and updating CCCP information systems, including SharePoint and electronic records, to support grant administration and document management.
  • Conducting research, jurisdictional scans, and stakeholder consultations to support program design and ensure alignment with legislation, codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Communicating with operators, stakeholders, grant recipients, and senior management regarding program delivery, project progress, and emerging issues.
  • Supporting continuing care facility registration, tracking, and reporting activities, including responding to facility and bed capacity information requests.
  • Drafting briefings, issue notes, and response materials related to continuing care capital projects and coordinating action request processes.
  • Representing the Branch on committees, forums, and working groups, and contributing expertise to regulatory and program development initiatives.
